ThinkTEC Advisory Board

The ThinkTEC Advisory Board meets quarterly to learn of, provide advice to, and be champions for the activities of ThinkTEC and the knowledge-based environment of the Charleston region.  The 35 member Board is comprised of business and education leaders, government officials, IP attorneys and economic developers.

ThinkTEC Steering Committee

The ThinkTEC Steering Committee meets monthly to review current ThinkTEC activities and provide guidance for new ideas.  The Committee is comprised of nine members of the Advisory Board and is led by the ThinkTEC Advisory Board Chairman.  Other members have the following Vice-Chair positions: First, VC, Public Sector, IT, Education, Innovation Summit, Fundraising, Venture Capital and Homeland Security.

 


ThinkTEC Homeland Security Innovation Conference Task Force

This group is responsible for planning and executing the annual conference for those in or serving homeland security initiatives/industry.  This includes establishing the agenda, securing speakers, planning VIP tours and obtaining sponsors.  The Task Force is comprised of leaders in military, government, defense contracting, technology and economic development.

ThinkTEC Innovation Summit Committee

This group is responsible for planning and executing the annual conference for those interested in or serving the knowledge-based industry.  This includes establishing the agenda, securing speakers, planning VIP tours and obtaining sponsors.  The Committee is comprised of business owners/managers, entrepreneurs, IP attorneys, researchers, investors and economic developers.

Business Continuity Planning Council

This group is responsible for setting the direction for the Chamber’s business continuity planning initiatives.  They identify the programs and services to be offered that will assist chamber members in preventing, protecting and recovering from natural and/or man-made disasters.  The Council is comprised of business continuity planners, preparedness managers, first responders, business executives, and other service providers.
