ThinkTEC Homeland Security Innovation Conference
This annual multi-day event showcases the Charleston region as a model community for public/private partnership initiatives, technological advances and business opportunities for homeland security and business continuity planning.  It also provides information on preventing, protecting, responding and recovering from natural and man-made disasters

The event includes a pre-conference day of behind the scenes VIP tours - where attendees tour regional business facilities and military installations, receive activity briefings, and witness research facilities and technology demonstrations.

The next two days include expert presentations, political leader's reports, product exhibits and considerable networking opportunities.

Attendees include: business executives, military and political leaders, government officials, first responders, business continuity planners, defense contractors, security professionals, health officials, researchers, and economic developers.

ThinkTEC Innovation Summit
This annual multi-day event showcases activities and promotes the growth of the knowledge-based industry in the Charleston region.  It covers starting, protecting, funding, marketing, staffing, growing and exiting your knowledge-based business.

The event includes a pre-conference day of behind the scenes tours of regional research facilities and knowledge businesses.

The next two days include expert presentations, political leader's reports and considerable networking opportunities.  In addition, there is Innovation Isle (an area showcasing start-up ventures whose research is leading to commercialization), Exhibition Hall (of product displays), Cyber Café (where attendees can go on-line to get more conference information - or check email) and the "New Ideas for a New Carolina" contest winners brainstorming session.

Attendees include: business executives, entrepreneurs, political leaders, venture capitalists, legal and financial professionals, government officials, researchers, scientists and economic developers.

Several times a year, ThinkTEC conducts a one-day event to facilitate the advancement of a segment of the knowledge-based industry.  It's an opportunity for those in a targeted industry to share resources and make connections.  Examples of such events include: Alt-E Summit (for alternative energies) and MUSC Technology Transfer Forum.

Topical Networking Breakfasts/Lunches
Several times per year, ThinkTEC organizes a two-hour event to present a topic of interest for or about the knowledge industry.  The agenda includes networking opportunities before and after the presentation.  Sample topics have included: "Protecting Your Intellectual Property", "Securing Your Computer System", "The Vision of Clemson - ICAR", "Hiring and Firing - New State Laws that Impact Knowledge-Based Businesses", "The Lowcountry Graduate Center - Providing Advanced Degrees in the Charleston Region" and "Next Energy - the Hydrogen Coalition".
